Brief history of El Paso, TX
El Paso is as old as the United States, about 200 years of tradition, and is rich with a culture which embraces the best cultural mores of Mexico and the Best of the United States.
There is a discussion that the first Thanksgiving might have been held in El Paso when the conquistadores crossed the Rio Grand. El Paso is at the most westerly tip of Texas. It is at the corner of three states, Texas, New Mexico, and Chihuahua, Mexico. The state of Mexico is separated by the Rio Grand river which journeys and parallels the Rockies all the way from Colorado.
It is also home of the El Paso Chihuahua's. The El Paso Chihuahuas are a minor league baseball team nestled in the center of town representing El Paso Texas in the Pacific Coast League. They are the Triple-A affiliate for the San Diego Padres. The team moved to El Paso from Tucson, Arizona.
El Paso is also home to the Sun Bowl at the University of Texas at El Paso, the UTEP Miners, where teams such as Arizona State, Stanford, Southern California, Norter Dame, Texas Tech, Texas Longhorns, UCLA, Norter Dame and many others have played.

The city of El Paso has a mountain right in the middle of it featuring a nice drive three quarters of the way up the mountain overseeing the entire Down Town, Central and East El Paso with a beautiful view, especially at night with the glidder of the lights. The 200 foot lighted star near the top of the eastern part of the mountain can also be seen for miles away at night.
If you'd like a great look at the other side of the mountain, the beautiful West Side of El Paso can also be viewed from Transmountain road or from the beautiful home settings by the mountain and the Upper Valley with it's elegant and comfortable home designs. The west side of the city also features the most amazing, sizzling sunsets in the southwest.
El Paso is home to a population of approximately 700,000, and is most importantly known for it's friendly people. Quality of life is significantly maintained by the fact that it is the Safest city in the entire Continental USA, second only to Hawaii.
